Our Residents

mother child2The O’Connor House accepts single, pregnant women over the age of 18 who are homeless and experiencing crisis. Women may stay for a period up to 18 months during her pregnancy and afterwards.

The O’Connor House does not discriminate on the basis of race, national origin, religion, or disability.

As residents of The O’Connor House, certain guidelines must be met by the women residents in order to ensure peace and harmony for all who are living at the home, as well as for the ongoing success of our services and programs.

Residency guidelines include:

  • A willingness to live in and participate in Christian Community
  • Follow guidelines and rules in the House Policy Manual
  • Participate in educational programs
  • Share house responsibilities
  • Contribute financially: Women who are employed will contribute 10% of their income to the O’Connor House. Half of all state sponsored subsidies will be forwarded to the O’Connor House. Women on social security or other welfare contribute a percentage.
